15 hour netbook

There is now a netbook (MSI WIND U160) that boasts a 15 hour battery life and that is not easy. However, my 5 hour laptop lasts only five minutes, so many this baby will last 15 mins. What ever happen to that high tech fuel cell laptop that was suppose to be able to go two weeks without a refill from sony?

We are becoming a netbook nation, but the tiny keyboard is a cramp. Please, this is too small so it is time to supersize me. I want a real laptop that can run real programs.

men on mars

They say men are from mars. Also, that women come from venus. Well, going to mars is on the back burner for now. I use to dream of terraforming the cold dry red planet into a second earth that was wet and warm. Hey, sorry, but we ran out of money. It does cost a lot to explore space. "No bucks = no Buck Rogers" goes the saying. With our current economic crisis, it will be a long time before we exit our recession. That means no future on mars.

power of maps

This is a picture from google street view. It is of the corporate headquarters of a vitamin company. This is possible thanks to a map. You can also see from above the whole area.

It is almost like being there when using a map. Actually, I am very surprise. There is much quality to the images.

There are those who claim that everything is fine and prosperity is just around the corner. Well, that refrain is max common, not just now but in 1930's known for the great depression and now we are in the great recession. Folks, our economy is losing steam and there is no recovery. This was a trick from politicians that want tobe re-elected and not lose their jobs live we are losing ours.

John Titor's Timeline

In the alternate timeline of John Titor there was in 2004 a civil war. I just read on the web about John Titor's mom. That she was Italian and that he was not american. OK c'mon guys. I do not believe that was his real name. Perhaps it was Titorini or some other name. Who can say? On an alternate timeline things could be quite odd and different to the max.

illegal immigration

Undocumented workers are a major problem for us. There are now over 30 million "undocumented" workers in america. These people compete for jobs which are scarce. It adds to our stress on infrastructure and rare resources. They are not happy because they make less than americans. However, that is only the beginning of woe. Salaries go down as illegals move in. For example, common laborers at a meatpacking plant in Texas earn 35% less money than they did just thirty years ago. This is because illegal immigrants cause lower wages.
Also, costs go up. That is due to greater demand which will boost for example energy prices. Also, since many illegals are paid in cash that means our government gets less tax revenue. The difference is made up by legals being forced to pay more.

americans graze news

Pew report says americans graze news. I wonder, is we browsing the same as grazing? Well, one thing for sure. I now see that fewer people are getting news from newspapers. OK some blame the high cost of paper. Other say we are becoming a nation of TV viewers. However, the truth is that the internet is taking over.
