arson

Fire departments are working over time and arson has become one of the very hottest crimes in our troubled nation. The number of suspicious fires has had a dramatic increase as our economic crisis has deepened. This means insurance premiums will go up as people are forced to pay for all this possible arson incidents.

This brings with it a staggering economic loss as we consider the increase in costs coupled with a reduction in jobs, infrastructure, and lives. The damage to local communities by this dangerous activity is made worse due to a lax attitude by many people. Sadly, arson crime is on the rise as our financial situation gets worse. Unable to sell houses many frustrated home owners turn to arson. Also, others facing foreclosure burn down their former residence.

Lax enforcement has made many insurance companies see their profits go up in smoke. Local departments no longer have the budget for extensive investigations of every suspicious fire. This is important because as more insurance companies go under the premiums of those that survive will go up. Therefore arson affects you.
