Indiana versus Illinois
Indiana is trying to take biz from Illinois away. They want to convince companies to move. Yeah, to Indiana anyway. Here is the reason. Illinois personal income tax shot up from 3% onward to 5% a more than 50% rise. Also, its corporate tax rate went up from 7.3% upward to 9.5% and rising. Not only does Indiana have lower taxes, but also lower wages. That is a winning combination for any company. Folks, those pennies add up.
