Quartz crystals
Quartz crystals are quite common. It is best to use your HDR with a double terminated quartz crystal in the witness well, but there we now are. Frankly, we use these in digital watches to measure TIME... um yes, quartz crystals we mean. Well, they do vibrate at a certain frequency which we measure.
