smell of space

What is the smell of space. Astronauts describe a characteristic aroma. This metallic odor is like welding fumes not ozone. Perhaps, it is a bit more metallic in nature, but we are not sure. Basically, there is much that we are learning now. Funny how no one in NASA was talking about this back in the 1950's when people first went up. Then again, no one told me that yellow stone park smells like rotten eggs.
